Celebration of Life

Phyllis Ann Bowersock passed away January 17, 2019. Her two daughters were at her bedside. She was beloved by the community for her political advocacy, her partnership in The Book Place, and her community service. A celebration of her life will be held May 11th at Events at Sunset in Richland. Details of the service will follow nearer to that date in the full obituary.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer that donations be made to POPP Tri-Cites, Richland Players, and Chaplaincy Hospice House.

  • Phyllis was my neighbor, our children went to school together and our husbands worked for the same company. She was fun to know, and we saw each other often thru the years. And the wonderful book store-I will always remember that. Phyllis will be missed by many.

  • Phyllis and Bob, what a delightful pair. Down to earth, genuine people who cared about all things decent and good. A lovely lady and a fine gentleman. Phyllis now joins her beloved Bob in eternal rest.

  • So very sorry to learn of Phyllis's death. She was a spunky lady, the "face" of the Book Place for many years, and did so much for our community. I know she will be missed by many I used to live in Richland until 2015 when my husband became ill and we moved here to be closer to our daughters. Wally passed away in Oct 2016, and is buried at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

  • Kim, Karen and family, my condolences on your loss. I hope you know how much of a difference your Mom made in our community and in my life. She was a great supporter of the arts and she really helped grow the Tri Cities performing arts culture. I welcomed her support and inspiration when I taught at Hanford. I also valued her support of teachers and of the Democratic political party. Most of all, she was a nice person and I remember her most for her smile and her friendliness toward me and our family. She will be missed, but her influence will continue.
